Weeded Debates [Sep. 4th, 2008|12:54 pm]

I had an interesting debate last night on the patio at the bar. About being gay and IQ in relation to society. The whole debate was with this one guy, who smoked me out during which was cool. I could tell that he is incredibly conservative, and has limited views on certain subjects.

Anywho...overall with the gay conversation he was confused at the fact that a guy wouldn't want a sexual relationship with a girl. I said that I find women attractive but not sexually attractive. Women are beautiful, but that doesn't mean I want to fuck one.

Then there was the whole IQ and Society talk. He said "take two couples, one where both people have an IQ 0f 70 and the other couple with IQ's of 140. Logically which one should have a child that would better affect society?" and I said that you can't pick just one, That both should have a child, because without both society would cease to exist, if only people with IQ's of 140 had children then everyone would be the same in society in that aspect. And no one knows idea how anyone, regardless of IQ, will affect society because its the choices that they make in life that affect them. Someone with a high IQ could go on a killing spree, where as someone with a lower IQ could revolutionize the world. There is no way to tell.

Anyways it was quite fun, got me in a tizzy. But there was no anger, and it never got heated, just a good debate. And I got really high cause i hadn't smoked in like three days.

Now I'm sitting at home like I have been all day since I got off of work, Trying to figure out what it is that I want to do this evening.

what to talk about?

things have been steadily similar lately, although i have been remembering more dreams the past couple of nights, which usually never happens.

the weather is slowly changing. summer is giving way to fall. it feels exceptionally good outside today, quite windy though. It's kind of a dreary day which always makes me somewhat happy.

ACL is in a few weeks, which is exciting. I can't wait. It's going to be a good festival.

My birthday was this past tuesday, had a blast. got incredibly drunk and stoned. one part that i definitely remember is when i was getting my birthday spankings. at first someone hit me with their hand, and i said "thats not gonna cut it, get a belt" then slap after slap i kept yelling "i still cant feel it, hit me harder", there were a few that i did feel, but the slight pain subsided quickly. it could have also been the liquid codine

anywho...i think that i may go look at tambourines later, cause yeah it would be pretty cool to have one.

Back in Kansas City from the reunion in Nashville, had a great time.

We got there Friday night around nine, a bit later than we were expecting, but we got there nonetheless. Said our hellos then went to drink and hang out in the parking garage, much fun.

Saturday morning was the auction, after that we went over to the gaylord opryland hotel and walked around trying to rehash old memories from when we stayed there for a family reunion when I was 4, holy shit that's almost 19 years ago...fucking ridiculous. After that we all went out to our cousin's house for food, memorial and such....it was okay, kind of a borefest, then we went back to the hotel for more drinking.

Sunday morning was the business meeting, info on who will be hosting it next year, money matters, and all that stuff. Then it was time to pack up and get back on the road. Before we left Nashville we stopped by the Willie Nelson and Friends store which was right around the corner from our hotel. On our way back we made a stop in Memphis. Our original plan was to visit Graceland, but that shit is expensive, and we got there late....so we had to think of something else to do. We then decided on Mud Island....fucking awesome. They have a scaled down replica of the Mississippi River running through the middle that you can walk in and everything. It's made of layered concrete and all of the topography is correct. At the end of the river was Lake Pontchartrain and the Gulf of Mexico which i got to walk around in both pretending that I was a giant!!! It was pretty sweet. Then it was back on the road for KC.

We got back at like 3 am, I passed out on the couch once we got home. I was very tired since I drove all but the last 3 hours on the whole trip.

I'm sure we will do something exciting tonight, we always have fun in KC!!!!

Katie and I went to Austin on Wednesday to see Brandi Carlile and the Indigo Girls. The show was fucking fantastic. We went to the bar at Stubb's when we got there, and sitting right behind us was none other than Brandi and her band. We didn't talk to them because we didn't want to bother them. Katie, however, was checked out by Brandi on her way out. Then at the show they were pretty much fucking each other with their eyes. Needless to say we had a great time, Katie a bit more than me.

Then last night I went to see Rilo Kiley with my old manager from Paul Frank. It was a good show, Jenny is gorgeous.

Thursday we leave for the family reunion!!!! It's in Nashville this year. We are making a long trip out of it, which will be fucking fantastic. We are heading to Kansas City first so we can pick up my cousin, and stay there for one night before we all head to Nashville. Then after the reunion we are heading back to KC to stay for another night or two and to drop my cousin back off before we head back to Texas. It's going to be a great getaway.

I'm sure there will be shenanigans taking place at the reunion like there always is.....so more about that later!

Had a great weekend filled with camping fun!

We went camping out at a friends land near oklahoma all weekend. Complete with bonfire singalongs, stargazing, swimming, etc.

I would have to say that I had the most fun when we went swimming. We commandeered a paddle boat long enough to get it back to the other side where the dock was before it broke, pretty hilarious. A lot of work went into getting that boat only for it to break. Almost everyone got sunburned, but that's alright, we were all in pain together.

Much fun was had, it was a great escape.

Brandi Carlile on Wednesday in Austin!!!!!

So...I figured out what that sound was from the last post.

Turns out it was a heron, no zombie bullfrogs. *slight sad face*

[Current Music |Brandi Carlile - Fall Apart Again]

Memorial day, in other words a day where everyone cooks out (weather permitting) and drinks a lot. Which the drinking will come later, at least for me.

Last night Katie and I sat out by the creek and had a beer. I realized...again...I've smoked myself retarded. but anywho, a lot of strange noises started popping up everywhere. Many of them were coming from the crew drilling for gas. But there was this one, that kept happening really close. My reaction when I first heard it......ZOMBIES!!! Then we slowly tried to figure out if it was really just a big bull-frog. We never found out for sure. Maybe it was a zombie bull-frog! Have you ever thought about that?

Bar later!!!!!!!!!

[Current Music |Mates Of State - My Only Offer]

Some guys just showed up to my house to install dish network. My room is a fucking mess, and yet we have to get it in here somehow. My parents have just recently decided to join the 21st century and get wireless internet and satellite. We cant get cable out here cause we live in an unincorporated area, which is outside of the city limits. The wrong side of the train tracks, as it were, but the right side for getting really fucked up and fireworks!!

Since I mentioned it on my last post....my brother's wedding was this past weekend. It was very nice. I pretty much hate weddings, and I usually sit/stand as far back as I can if I'm forced to attend one, waiting for everything to end so I can drink. I was in this wedding, a groom's man. Which was fine because it was my brother and I really like his now wife, but still weird feeling nonetheless.

The wedding was at five in the evening, I ran off into the woods next to my house at three to have a beer, a bowl, and a cigarette. By the end of that I was pretty toasty, and there was no edge in sight. The my friends showed up and I had them make me pretty (loaded) drink. By the time the wedding had started I was feeling quite nice. Then once it was over I proceeded to drink more and more. By the time that we left the wedding for the bar I had already consumed 4 beers and 4 rum and cokes, with weed every now and then when I could sneak away. By the time we arrived at the bar I was already gone, then we had more to drink and smoke at the bar. I remember everything though, which is good, but I always seem to have a good memory of what happened when I've been really drunk. Twas a good night.

Tonight is Movie Night at the bar, they are showing Mallrats. "Chocolate covered pretzel?"

P.S. the new Mates album is kick ass. They were on Conan last night, which I forgot to record, but watched it earlier online. Yay for the internets!!

Mates of State's new album "Re-Arrange Us" came out today, I will be purchasing it here shortly. I already know that it is going to be fantastic, especially since I have heard quite a few of the songs already.

My Brother Chris' wedding was this past weekend....more on that later.

Time to go smoke and rock out to Mates!!!!!
